ACC Foundation Names New President, Adds Two Board Members
Alamance Community College announced leadership changes for the ACC Foundation, naming Jack R. Overacre Jr. as Foundation president beginning January 1, 2026, for a two year term. The Foundation also added two new board members, Chip Foushee and Suzanne McCoy, moves intended to strengthen scholarships, partnerships and student supports across Alamance County.

Alamance Community College announced on December 4, 2025 that Jack R. Overacre Jr. will become president of the ACC Foundation effective January 1, 2026. Overacre will serve a two year term covering 2026 through 2028 and will succeed Jackie Cole, whose term ends December 31, 2025. The Foundation also named two new board members who will begin service in 2026, Chip Foushee and Suzanne McCoy.
Overacre brings a long career in corporate leadership to the Foundation role. He is a 1969 technical institute graduate and has held senior roles at IBM and most recently at Kyndryl. The Foundation cited that background as an asset for expanding philanthropic support and strengthening partnerships between the college and regional employers.
The two new board members were identified for their professional experience in banking and private sector services. Chip Foushee joins the board as Senior VP and Commercial Relationship Manager at First Horizon National Corporation. Suzanne McCoy will serve as Senior VP of Marketing and Client Services at Samet. Their appointments are framed by the Foundation as a way to broaden strategic relationships and to enhance fundraising and program development aimed at students in Alamance County.

For local residents the leadership changes matter because the ACC Foundation is a key channel for scholarships and student supports that lower the financial barriers to technical training and degree programs. Community colleges play a central role in local workforce development, and an active foundation can accelerate employer partnerships, provide more targeted scholarship funds, and help students complete credentials that local employers need. Appointees with corporate fundraising and client relationship experience can expand the Foundation capacity to secure private dollars and to align support with regional labor market demands.
The new board members and president will begin their terms in 2026, and the ACC Foundation indicated the appointments are intended to bolster scholarship programs, partnerships and student support services across the county. Residents and local employers can expect the Foundation to pursue deeper engagement with corporate partners to support workforce pipelines and student success initiatives.
