Allendale man charged in Colleton County robberies, held pending extradition
Aaron Davon Bush, 30, was charged December 5 in connection with two armed robberies in Colleton County and is being held at the Allendale County Detention Center while detectives await extradition. The arrests underscore regional law enforcement cooperation and raise questions about retail safety and resource demands for local agencies.

Aaron Davon Bush, 30, faces multiple felony counts after Colleton County authorities linked him to a pair of armed robberies that occurred in the Ruffin area. On December 5 prosecutors filed two counts of armed robbery, two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and four counts of kidnapping in connection with the incidents at the Family Dollar at Bells Crossroads and the Dollar General at Sniders Crossroads.
Colleton County detectives said Bush is also facing similar charges in multiple other jurisdictions, and he was being held at the Allendale County Detention Center while officials coordinate his transfer. Colleton County detectives are awaiting extradition to bring him before judges and move the cases forward.
The investigation brought together several law enforcement agencies. Colleton County Sheriff Buddy Hill praised the coordinated response, saying, "We appreciate the outstanding teamwork displayed by SLED, the Hampton City Police Department, the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Allendale County Sheriff’s Office," highlighting the regional effort to identify and detain a suspect accused of violent crimes that crossed jurisdictional lines.
For local residents and business owners, the arrests will likely prompt renewed focus on retail security and the safety of patrons and employees. The incidents at two small retail outlets echo broader concerns about robberies targeting convenience and discount stores. Local leaders and law enforcement may face pressure to review patrol patterns, security protocols, and victim support practices to prevent similar incidents.

The case also illustrates the practical challenges faced by rural counties when suspects are held locally while charges accumulate in neighboring jurisdictions. Extradition procedures, the sequencing of court appearances, and the allocation of investigative resources will shape how quickly charges are adjudicated and how communities are reassured.
Next steps include formal extradition and arraignment in Colleton County courts, where prosecutors will present evidence and seek to set bond and court dates. Residents with information relevant to the investigations are encouraged to contact local law enforcement. The unfolding legal process will determine how authorities hold the accused to account and how agencies refine cooperative responses to violent crime in the region.
