Arcanum Worlds and Wizards of the Coast launched Chains of Asmodeus on December 30, 2025, offering a 286 page PDF that will direct all sales revenue to Extra Life and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The product appeared on Dungeon Masters Vault at a price of $29.99, with print on demand copies planned for a later date. The charitable pledge makes the release notable both as a major content drop and as an opportunity for the Dungeons and Dragons community to support hospital care for children.
Chains of Asmodeus functions as both an expansion to campaign lore and a ready made, challenging adventure for experienced parties. The book is presented as Nine Hells focused source material and a high level adventure designed for characters roughly between levels 11 and 20. Dungeon Masters will find more than 50 high challenge monsters and stat blocks for Asmodeus and other major archdevils, allowing for climactic confrontations at the top of a campaign or the escalation of infernal threats across multiple sessions.
The volume includes over 20 infernal magic items and introduces a new item corruption mechanic that changes how artifacts and rewards influence play. This mechanic provides DMs with a tool for adding long term consequences to loot, turning powerful treasures into plot drivers and moral choices within a campaign. Detailed write ups on each layer of the Nine Hells and illustrated maps by John Stevenson offer immediate setting depth that can be used for side campaigns, planar excursions, or long running arcs centered on infernal politics.

James Ohlen and Adrian Tchaikovsky authored the work, and the visual team includes Sergei Sarichev, Sergey Musin, Julian Calle, Sebastian Kowoll, Paul Adams, Luis Lasahido, and the Aaron Sims Company. The combined writing and art support help the book function as a usable toolkit for DMs who want immediate visual and mechanical material without heavy homebrew conversion.
For groups planning charity streams, marathon sessions, or seasonal fundraisers, the release provides direct fundraising potential because every purchase supports Extra Life. For regular campaigns, the material offers modular content that can replace or augment existing Nine Hells material in a living campaign. The initial PDF availability on Dungeon Masters Vault makes immediate access straightforward, with print on demand copies expected to follow for tables that prefer physical books.
