Copperas Cove announces city closures, revised trash schedule for Christmas
Copperas Cove will close all city facilities on Wednesday December 24 and Thursday December 25 for the Christmas holiday, including the Solid Waste Transfer Station. Residents should follow the adjusted trash, recycling, brush and bulk collection schedule for the week and contact City Hall or Solid Waste with questions to avoid missed service.

Copperas Cove officials announced that in observance of the Christmas holiday all city facilities will be closed on Wednesday December 24 and Thursday December 25, including the Solid Waste Transfer Station. The city released an adjusted collection schedule for the week to maintain essential waste services while observing the holiday.
The week of service adjustments will begin Monday December 22 with trash collection in Areas 1 and 2, and recycle brush and bulk service for Area 2. On Tuesday December 23 trash collection will serve Areas 3 and 4, and recycle brush and bulk service will serve Area 4. Wednesday December 24 trash crews will cover Areas 5 and 6, with recycle brush and bulk service for Area 6. Thursday December 25 is a holiday for curbside service and city facilities. Collection resumes Friday December 26 with trash for Areas 7 and 8, and recycle brush and bulk service for Area 8.
Commercial trash customers will be collected on their regularly scheduled days except there will be no commercial collection on Thursday December 25. Commercial customers who normally receive service on Thursday will be serviced either the day before or the day after. Residents and businesses with questions about closures or the schedule may contact City Hall at (254) 547 4221 for general information, and Solid Waste at (254) 547 5245 for collection specific questions.

This schedule matters to Coryell County residents because holiday closures and shifted pickup days can lead to missed service, overflowing containers and delayed disposal of holiday waste. The Solid Waste Transfer Station closure will also affect anyone planning to drop off trash or bulky items during the holiday period. Adhering to the revised schedule will help crews maintain routes and reduce disruptions for neighbors.
As families travel and gather for the holiday, following the city schedule will limit confusion and keep neighborhoods clean. For confirmation of your collection day or to report a missed pickup contact Solid Waste at the number above before assuming service will occur on the usual day.
