Games Workshop confirmed that pre orders for Warhammer Quest Darkwater would begin on November 29, 2025, according to reporting by IXBT Games summarizing official Warhammer Community announcements published on November 24. The cooperative board game supports one to four players and is set in the Age of Sigmar setting, presenting a boxed experience that emphasizes miniatures driven play and narrative campaigns.

The core box is substantial. It contains 49 detailed plastic miniatures, including seven named heroes Drolf Ironbrow, Edmark Valoran, Bren Talis, Inara Sion, Keltanore, Drasher Vorne and Jacobus Vane, plus the Whisper spirit. Villains listed among the contents include Gelgus Pus, Belga Cystwitch, Mulgoth the Cleaver and Foulhoof the Filthy, with a roster of common enemies such as Plagueborn, Blightreapers, Pestigors, Afflicted Scoundrels and Mirefolk Kelpies. Component lists also note hero and enemy cards, reward cards, token boards, dice and storage boxes designed to keep parts organized.

A notable design choice is a 38 page hardcover map book that unfolds across the table in place of modular tiles, changing how scenarios are presented and how hobbyists plan scenic basing and painting. The package includes a quick start guide and a 36 page rulebook covering both skirmish and campaign play, giving groups a range of session lengths and progression systems to explore.

For hobbyists the scale and variety of figures means a large painting and assembly workload, plus opportunity for conversions and tabletop dioramas. For players the inclusion of campaign content and the announced campaign expansion Path to Glory Blighted Wilds, a 90 page narrative supplement that adds new rules and scenarios, suggests a long term play environment that will support regular local gaming nights and narrative campaigns.

Pre orders opening next weekend give retailers, club organizers and collectors a narrow window to budget and plan, while the box contents aim to appeal to those who enjoy cooperative narrative play within the Age of Sigmar universe.
