Goshen Chabad Offers Adult Series on Understanding Antisemitism
Chabad Goshen announced a three-session adult education series, "Strength Over Fear: Understanding and Facing Antisemitism Past and Present," to be held Jan. 13, Jan. 20, and Jan. 27, 2026, at the Chabad Goshen Center. The classes aim to give local residents historical context and practical tools to recognize and respond constructively to antisemitism, with affordable pricing and financial aid to ensure broad access.

Chabad Goshen announced on Jan. 6 that it will host a three-session series for adults titled "Strength Over Fear: Understanding and Facing Antisemitism Past and Present." Sessions are scheduled for Tuesdays, Jan. 13, Jan. 20, and Jan. 27, 2026, from 7:15-8:30 p.m. at the Chabad Goshen Center, 203 Main St., Goshen.
Organizers said the course weaves historical context, primary sources, and contemporary examples to help participants understand the persistence and manifestations of antisemitism and develop constructive responses. Each 75-minute session is designed for adult learners and combines lecture, discussion, and practical guidance intended to equip community members, civic leaders, and faith groups with tools for recognition, dialogue, and de-escalation.
The program is offered at $25 for the full three-session course or $12 per individual session. Chabad emphasized that financial need will not be a barrier; those who cannot pay are welcome to attend at no cost. The modest fee structure and explicit accommodation for financial need aim to broaden participation across Orange County and reduce economic barriers to civic education.
For Orange County residents, the series arrives amid heightened attention to community safety and intergroup relations. Local synagogues, schools, and civic organizations often cite education and dialogue as key components of prevention and response. By situating contemporary incidents within a longer historical arc and providing concrete response strategies, the program seeks to strengthen local capacity for both immediate protective action and longer-term community resilience.
Space and registration details are available online at the Chabad Goshen site. Residents interested in attending are encouraged to register ahead of the first session on Jan. 13. The series represents a local effort to translate historical understanding into practical measures that support safety, mutual respect, and civic cohesion in Orange County.
