The High Point Police Department said an 18 year old woman who prompted an Ashanti Alert after a reported abduction was located safe on November 11, 2025, and the alert was canceled. The department also said the suspect identified in the case had not been located when the department released its statement.

Police originally responded at about 12:05 a.m. on November 11 to a domestic disturbance in the 500 block of Rolling Green Drive, according to the department press release. The alert named the missing person as Lundan Jenkins, described as an 18 year old Black woman about 5 feet 9 inches tall with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing black jogging pants and a black hoodie. The suspect was identified as 22 year old Jairee Ledbetter of High Point. Ledbetter may be driving a black 2013 BMW 320i sedan with a temporary tag and a broken window, the release said.

The press release emphasized that the suspect and victim knew each other, and it asked anyone who saw the suspect, the victim, or the vehicle, or who has information about the case, to call 911 immediately. The department included Case Report Number 2025 27789 and provided media contact information for Victoria Ruvio and a link to the High Point Police website.

For residents, the incident highlights several community safety and public policy considerations. First, the quick issuance of an Ashanti Alert drew public attention and likely prompted increased civilian awareness in the hours after the incident. Second, the fact that the victim was found safe is a relief for neighbors, but the announcement that the suspect remained at large underscores ongoing risk and the importance of timely law enforcement follow up.

The case also points to the broader issue of domestic disturbances that escalate to potential abductions, and the need for accessible services for people involved in intimate partner conflicts. Local officials and service providers may face pressure to examine how resources are allocated for prevention, rapid response, and victim support. For law enforcement, the episode reinforces the role of clear public communication and the value of alert systems that mobilize community assistance.

As of the November 11 press release the department had not reported an arrest. Residents with relevant information are asked to contact 911. For media inquiries the press release listed Victoria Ruvio at 336 870 6710 and victoria.ruvio@highpointnc.gov and directed the public to www.HighPointNC.gov/Police for further updates.
