Hippodrome Announces 2025, 2026 Broadway Season With Major Tours
The France Merrick Performing Arts Center announced its 2025 to 2026 Broadway Series on December 3, bringing national touring productions including Wicked and The Phantom of the Opera to downtown Baltimore. The seven show subscription package and additional family programming promise expanded cultural options for residents while presenting ticketing and access questions for local audiences.

The France Merrick Performing Arts Center, known as the Hippodrome, announced its 2025 to 2026 Broadway Series on December 3, unveiling a season that will bring several national touring musicals to Baltimore. Highlights include the national tour of Wicked in Baltimore from December 17, 2025 to January 11, 2026, and touring productions of The Phantom of the Opera and Back to the Future The Musical among others.
The announced seven show subscription package runs across the theater season and lists dates for each engagement. Water for Elephants will run September 28 to October 4, 2025. The Phantom of the Opera is scheduled November 7 to November 15, 2025. The Great Gatsby is set for January 31 to February 7, 2026. Back to the Future The Musical will play February 24 to March 1, 2026. Kimberly Akimbo is slated April 28 to May 3, 2026. SUFFS will appear May 26 to May 31, 2026. A Beautiful Noise The Neil Diamond Musical is scheduled June 23 to June 28, 2026.
The season will also include family and holiday offerings, among them Dr. Seuss How the Grinch Stole Christmas The Musical, expanding programming for younger audiences and seasonal visitors. Current subscribers to the Hippodrome series can renew beginning January 29, 2026. Individual ticket on sale dates will be announced by the venue through its website.

For Baltimore residents the season represents both cultural opportunity and practical concerns. Major touring shows are likely to draw visitors to the downtown theater district, supporting restaurants, retail and hotels, and offering local arts organizations opportunities for partnerships and workforce engagement. At the same time the timing of renewals and the pending announcement of individual ticketing raises questions about pricing, accessibility and allocation of tickets for neighborhood residents and community groups.
Additional ticketing and season details are available through the Hippodrome France Merrick Performing Arts Center website. City leaders and arts advocates can use the coming weeks to press for clear public information on pricing, community access programs and opportunities for local participation in production staffing and education initiatives.
