Humboldt Senior Resource Center Updates Services, Expands Enrollment and Support
The Humboldt Senior Resource Center this week updated program operations and announced expanded enrollment and referral openings that affect seniors across the county. The updates include new enrollment for the Multipurpose Senior Services Program, ongoing referrals for care programs in Eureka, Fortuna and Arcata, and information on nutrition, volunteer opportunities and pet support.

The Humboldt Senior Resource Center issued a program update for the week of December 1, 2025 that details current operations, enrollment openings and contact points for county residents. The notice highlights expanded availability for several long term care and senior support services, along with schedules for nutrition sites and seasonal volunteer and pet sponsorship opportunities.
Key service changes include openings for new referrals to Adult Day Health and Alzheimer s services at locations in Eureka and Fortuna, and continued referral acceptance by Behavioral Health services through extension 1259. The center also called attention to Community Supports staff who can assist with housing related questions at extension 1254. The Multipurpose Senior Services Program is now enrolling adults age 60 and older with services available countywide, providing an option for seniors who need case management to remain safely at home.
Redwood Coast PACE centers in Arcata, Eureka and Fortuna are accepting referrals, offering coordinated primary and long term care options. Redwood Coast Village membership and volunteer information is available through extension 1283. Administrative hours were posted for the main building at 1910 California Street in Eureka, and program schedules for the Activities Program may be obtained by contacting the Senior Services Office at 707 443 9747 extension 1240.

Nutrition services and the Heritage Café schedule continue in Arcata, Eureka and Fortuna, and Heritage To Go and pop up meal pick up locations are operating in McKinleyville, Rio Dell and Willow Creek. The December 2025 issue of Senior News is available for residents seeking program calendars and seasonal announcements. The center also listed volunteer opportunities including Friendly Connections, the Activities Program and Meals on Wheels driver positions, along with seasonal pet sponsorship details intended to help seniors care for companion animals during the holidays.
