Local Insurer Donates Ten Thousand Dollars to Guidance Center
Cumberland Mutual Insurance presented a $10,000 donation to The Guidance Center on December 3, reinforcing support for local mental health services. The gift helps sustain programs for individuals and families in Cumberland County at a time when community needs are growing.

Cumberland County residents received a boost to local mental health services when Cumberland Mutual Insurance presented a check for $10,000 to The Guidance Center on December 3, 2025. The donation was handed to Danica Rivello, clinical operations officer for the Guidance Center, by Paul Ritter, president of Cumberland Mutual Insurance. Also present were Larry Pepper, Jr., president of the Cumberland Mutual board of trustees, and Ed Bowman, senior vice president of Cumberland Mutual.
The Guidance Center, founded in 1962, is a long standing provider of comprehensive mental health care in Cumberland County. The nonprofit offers a range of professional services and programs for individuals and families across the greater community. This new funding will contribute to the center's ability to maintain service capacity as demand for counseling and behavioral health support continues to rise in the region.

Local mental health providers say predictable funding makes it easier to keep appointment availability steady and to support outreach and prevention programs. For residents needing immediate assistance, the Guidance Center remains a primary access point for assessment, counseling and coordination of care. The center coordinates services that can include individual and family therapy, case management and connections to community resources to address social determinants of health.
Cumberland Mutual Insurance leadership has a history of local engagement, and this contribution underscores collaboration between the private sector and community health providers. The presence of board and executive officers at the presentation highlights the insurer's role as a community partner rather than merely a corporate donor.

For Cumberland County families, the donation means a modest but tangible reinforcement of local mental health infrastructure. Anyone seeking services or information can contact the Cumberland County Guidance Center at 856 825 6810 or visit www.ccgcnj.org. Continued community support will be important as local agencies work to meet growing behavioral health needs.
