MAX Credit Union Expands Holiday Giving, Matches Local Donations

MAX Credit Union expanded its holiday outreach on December 5, 2025, by adding donation matching tied to its decorated giving trees in Prattville and Tallassee and placing Feeding Hope Giving Trees inside Autauga and Elmore branches. The program directs donors via QR code to partner nonprofit pages, which increases the immediate funding available to local charities and makes it easier for residents to give during the peak holiday season.

MAX Credit Union used its participation in area Christmas tree trails this holiday season to raise money for several Autauga and Elmore County nonprofits, announcing a donation matching program connected to decorated giving trees in Prattville and Tallassee. The effort, active beginning December 5, 2025, directs visitors with a sign and QR code next to the tree to a brief survey and then to the Family Support Center donation page, and MAX will match every donation made through that link.

Carrie Rauch, Director of Communications and Brand Engagement, said, “This year, we thought, since we are going to participate with having a tree on the trail, how can we do something to support the Family Support Center further?” The program also sponsors a giving tree in the Tallassee Christmas Tree Walk that supports the Elmore County Humane Society, and internal Feeding Hope Giving Trees placed inside Autauga and Elmore branches will benefit the Heart of Alabama Food Bank. Rauch added, “We aim to support nonprofits, businesses, and our members because their work strengthens communities. It’s important for us to continue backing their missions.”

For local residents the initiative simplifies giving. Donors scanning the QR code are taken directly to the nonprofit donation pages, and because MAX matches those gifts, the immediate pool of resources available to partner organizations rises by the matched amount. That structure can be particularly important in December when demand for food assistance and social services often increases and when animal shelters experience higher intake rates.

The campaign also highlights the role of community banks and credit unions in local economic circulation. Contributions to food banks, family support services, and animal welfare organizations stay in the local economy through purchases of food, supplies, and staff support, helping to stabilize services that residents rely on. MAX’s visible branch presence in Autauga and Elmore counties makes it a convenient conduit for small donors who prefer to give where they live.
