Millbrook Reschedules Spirit of Christmas Events for One Week
The City of Millbrook announced it is moving the Spirit of Christmas festival and parade from Saturday, December 6 to Saturday, December 13 after forecasts predicted inclement weather. The decision affects vendors, parade participants, and holiday traffic, with festival hours set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the parade beginning at 11 a.m.

Millbrook officials announced on December 5 that this year’s Spirit of Christmas festival and parade would be rescheduled because weather forecasts showed conditions that could endanger vendors and parade participants. Organizers set the new date for Saturday, December 13, 2025. Festival hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the parade will begin at 11 a.m. The parade route is unchanged.
City staff said registered entries and vendors will be contacted with instructions, and that performance schedules and parade entries will remain as planned for the new date. Officials asked residents to check the official City of Millbrook social channels for updates and any last minute changes.
The change comes as a precautionary measure to protect public safety and to avoid disruption of a key community event. For local vendors the decision shifts one day of anticipated sales to the following weekend, which can compress staffing and inventory plans for small businesses that rely on holiday markets. For volunteer groups, marching units and school performers the one week delay requires adjustments to transportation plans and rehearsal schedules. For nearby retailers and restaurants the rescheduling may alter expected holiday foot traffic, with potential revenue effects concentrated around the new event date.

From a municipal perspective the move reduces the risk and cost of emergency response required during poor weather, and helps preserve the full program of performances and parade entries rather than canceling them outright. A postponement also preserves parade logistics, since the route remains unchanged and organizers will reuse the prepared staging and traffic plans.
Residents planning to attend should note the new times and date, and vendors and entrants should look for direct communications from city staff. With a week to adapt, organizers and participants can finalize arrangements to keep the festival’s activities on schedule and protect the safety of attendees.
