On December 10, 2025, Royse City Independent School District students and the Royse City FFA chapter posted a string of strong finishes at Leadership Development Events, earning high placements across several categories at the district and area competitions. The results demonstrate concentrated student preparation in public speaking, decision making, and technical agricultural knowledge, and underline the district's role in fostering workforce and civic skills.

The Ag Advocacy team placed second at the district level and eighth at the area level. Team members Isabella Anderson, Peyton Bowen, Hailey Padon, Cylee Poor, and Savannah Santiago researched and presented on how current grocery store prices affect local farmers and ranchers. The team was advised by Abigail Parr. The Ag Issues team earned second at district and tenth at area, with participants Carlie Boling, Leddi Brumley, Aleeya Garcia, Emily Keene, Miley Perez, Haylee Staats, and Michael Trujillo.

Several greenhand level teams also earned top results. The Greenhand Chapter Conducting team placed second at district and eleventh at area with Madison Clark, Piper Kendall, Piper Wiley, Kendra Stoker, Calleigh Landtroop, Maggie Houser, Clayton Musa, and Annabelle Causey. The Greenhand Quiz team took second at district and third at area, with Madison Clark, Calleigh Landtroop, Clayton Musa, and Madison Neighbors. Taken together, these performances involved roughly 29 students across six events and reflect both classroom instruction and extracurricular mentorship. For Rockwall County residents the results matter because projects such as the Ag Advocacy presentation directly connected local grocery economics to the livelihoods of area farmers and ranchers. The competitions strengthen communication and problem solving skills that translate into postsecondary opportunities and local economic resilience.

As Royse City FFA continues its program work, these placements provide a measurable sign of progress in agricultural education and community engagement. Continued district support and advisor involvement will be key to sustaining skill development that benefits students and the broader local economy.
