San Juan College Hosts WIOA Workshop, Connects Job Seekers and Employers

On December 2 the Student Resource Center Room 1612 at San Juan College hosted a two hour Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act information session aimed at helping job seekers access employment, education, training and support services and at connecting employers with skilled workers. The event ran from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and was organized to provide residents with an overview of available federal workforce resources and local pathways to skills development.

WIOA is a federal program designed to bridge job seeker needs and employer demand in a changing economy. Locally the college presented WIOA as a tool to assist people seeking work or new credentials while fostering relationships with area employers.
