Local high school girls basketball programs moved through a concentrated week of games across southeast Colorado, with Class 1A matchups drawing teams from small towns and cooperative programs. The schedule included in week play saw Las Animas, with two wins and zero losses, travel to South Baca, which entered the week with one win and one loss. Cheraw, one win and one loss, visited Manzanola, which had zero wins and two losses.

Midweek games featured Stanton County Kansas, one win and one loss, at the Kim and Branson cooperative, which began the week with two wins and zero losses. South Baca returned to play Cheraw later in the week. Flagler, one win and zero losses, faced the Genoa Hugo and Karval cooperative, which had zero wins and two losses, while Manzanola traveled to De Beque, which also entered with zero wins and two losses.

Friday action sent Flagler to Hanover, and Cheyenne Wells, which had zero wins and one loss, went to Briggsdale, which held two wins and zero losses. Stratton traveled to Hi Plains, which carried one win and one loss. Today, Saturday December 20, the schedule featured Bethune, with zero wins and two losses, at Ingalls Kansas, which began the week with one win and zero losses. Swink, one win and one loss, played at Kim and Branson, two wins and zero losses, and the Genoa Hugo and Karval cooperative visited Hi Plains.

Beyond Class 1A, schedules for Class 2A, Class 4A and other divisions also listed area matchups across southeast Colorado, keeping winter sports calendars active for students, families and school staff. The concentrated schedule matters for local communities because short travel times, school activity coordination and supporter turnout influence team logistics and budgets, and because these games are key to early season standings and playoff positioning.

Schools and athletic departments remain the primary sources for exact game times and any last minute changes. Fans and families planning to attend games should check with their local school athletic office for final information and for details about tickets and gym entry.
