TDOT Resurfacing Work Will Cause Lane Closures Across Decatur County
This week TDOT began resurfacing and maintenance work affecting SR 100 and SR 201 in Decatur County, with lane closures planned during scrub seal and paving operations. The work will affect daily commutes and commercial traffic, and rolling lane closures on I 40 are scheduled December 10 and 11 for pothole patching that will include the Decatur County stretch.

Roadwork that began this week will bring periodic lane closures to key routes in Decatur County as state crews perform resurfacing and related repairs. The resurfacing on SR 100 from the Henderson County line to Tillman Road and Shady Hill Road will require lane closures during scrub seal application and resurfacing work. Motorists should expect intermittent slowdowns as crews move through the project area.
State maintenance crews are also working on SR 201. In Henderson County SR 201 from SR 104 to the Decatur County line will see resurfacing and bridge repair work. In Decatur County the resurfacing on SR 201 from the Henderson County line to SR 202 will require temporary lane closures in both directions. One lane will remain open at all times on SR 201 while crews complete repairs, a measure intended to preserve traffic flow for local residents and commercial vehicles.
TDOT maintenance operations will include rolling lane closures on I 40 across the Henderson and Decatur County corridor. Crews will perform pothole patching on I 40 from mile marker 95 through mile marker 126 on Wednesday December 10 and Thursday December 11 between 8 00 a.m. and 2 30 p.m. Drivers should plan for alternating traffic and short delays during those hours.

The schedule includes both daytime and nighttime lane closures elsewhere across West Tennessee, and Decatur County is part of a broader program that balances seasonal maintenance needs with traffic impacts. Local implications include longer travel times for commuters and school transportation, potential delays for freight and deliveries that use state routes and the interstate, and the need for emergency responders to account for temporary restrictions.
Motorists are advised to follow posted signage, obey reduced speed limits in work zones, and allow extra travel time. Residents with concerns about timing or specific local impacts can monitor state transportation updates and contact county officials to request more detailed scheduling information.
