Trinidad police log shows arrests, accidents, and parade traffic control
Trinidad police responded to a range of calls on November 29, 2025, including an arrest for menacing, multiple single vehicle accidents on I25 with no injuries, and a reported theft from a vehicle. The variety and location of incidents matter to Las Animas County residents because they highlight traffic safety concerns on the interstate, the need to secure vehicles, and routine demands on local law enforcement during public events.

Trinidad police recorded a busy 24 hour period on November 29, 2025, with an arrest for menacing, several traffic incidents on I25, a theft from a vehicle in town, and staffing for a parade that required traffic control. The arrest was logged at 201 Americana shortly after midnight with one person taken into custody. Later in the day officers issued a citation following a traffic stop on East Main Street.
Interstate travel through Las Animas County was affected by a cluster of single vehicle accidents on I25. Calls were logged at northbound mile marker 12, mile marker 11 with assistance provided to Colorado State Patrol, and a southbound incident at exit 13B. All three accidents were recorded as single vehicle crashes with no injuries reported. The frequency of these incidents underscores roadway safety and weather or road condition questions that motorists should consider when traveling through the county.
Local neighborhoods also saw calls for service. A theft from a vehicle was reported at 1116 Lincoln. Welfare checks included a person who fell off a bicycle at the intersection of Main and Maple and was reported to have no injuries, and a welfare check at East First Street that concluded with all parties okay. Officers handled disturbances and civil matters at addresses including West Adams and Espinoza Street, and responded to requests to remove persons from residential locations in two cases, one of which was resolved before officers arrived.

Public safety resources were used for non emergency community needs as well. Officers provided extra patrol at a business on Toupal Drive, secured a building after an alarm on North Animas Street, and managed traffic for a parade in the Trinidad area. A parking complaint about an RV blocking a driveway on West Kansas was resolved with the owner advised to move the vehicle.
The Trinidad Police Department releases call details in accordance with the Colorado Open Records Act and the Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act. Personal identifying information for juveniles, sexual assault cases, and medical calls is not released to the public under those statutes. The log was created on November 30, 2025, and reflects incident activity on November 29, 2025.
