Coryell Health Marks 75 Year Partnership With State Hospital Association

Coryell Health was presented with the Texas Hospital Association 75 Year Member Tenure Award on December 9 in the hospital lobby, a formal recognition of 75 years of membership, collaboration and advocacy. Susan Jones, RN, MPA, Texas Hospital Association Member Ambassador, and John Hawkins, President and CEO of THA, presented the award to hospital leadership as community members and staff observed the milestone.

The award highlights a sustained relationship with the association that provides legislative updates, resources and leadership intended to advance health care statewide. Coryell Health traces its local roots back to 1940 and has served the Gatesville community for more than 85 years. That longevity has helped maintain local access to urgent and complex services around the clock, an essential public health benefit for rural and small town residents who often face long travel times for care.

John Hawkins framed the significance of long term service and innovation in the state system, saying, "The strength of Texas hospitals relies on our longevity and ability to innovate.
