Dollar General Launches 24 Days of Savings, Holiday Deals Through December
Dollar General began a 24 Days of Savings event on December 1, offering a new mega deal each day through December 24. The promotion aims to help shoppers stretch holiday budgets, while likely increasing store traffic and seasonal workload for employees.

Dollar General kicked off a monthlong holiday promotion on December 1, rolling out a different mega deal every day through December 24 as part of its 24 Days of Savings event. The company framed the campaign as a way to make seasonal shopping more affordable, reinforcing its assortment of everyday essentials and lower price point merchandise.
“We’re proud to offer everyday essentials alongside fun finds that help make the season brighter. DG is committed to helping our customers celebrate the season without compromising on value,” said Bryan Wheeler, executive vice president and chief merchant. The retailer also scheduled weekly three day sales during the promotion and emphasized that it maintains more than 2,000 items at or below the one dollar price point.
Examples of one day deals listed for the promotion include 50 percent off six foot pre lit holiday trees, 30 percent off Roblox gift cards, two for three dollars Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls when two are purchased, one dollar fifty Pepsi or Mountain Dew two liter bottles, a five dollar True Living tote, four dollar fifty DiGiorno Rising Crust Pizza, one dollar holiday gift bags and wrapping paper, fifteen dollar jumbo plush toys, and 50 percent off Roughneck tools. The company gave December four through six as an example window for a three day sale.

For hourly store employees the event is likely to translate into a busier holiday stretch. Increased foot traffic and daily deal turnover will require more frequent restocking, additional attention to merchandising, and extended register coverage during peak periods. Stores may rely on seasonal hires to absorb higher demand, while managers will need to balance scheduling to avoid understaffing and to limit excessive overtime. Greater transaction volume also raises operational pressure on loss prevention and customer service.
Dollar General noted career opportunities in its corporate materials and provided media contact information at dgpr@dollargeneral.com. As the promotion continues through Christmas Eve, employees and managers will be directly managing the operational and customer service demands that come with a daily rotating sale program.
