Hotel Thaynes reopens in Park City after multimillion dollar renovation
Hotel Thaynes opened on December 12, 2025, after a multimillion dollar renovation and conversion into a Tribute Portfolio property within the Marriott Bonvoy network, bringing 128 upgraded guest rooms and new amenities to Park City. The transformation expands local lodging capacity during peak ski season, increases hospitality employment and tax revenue potential, and links a historic Thaynes name to modern resort hospitality.

Lodging Dynamics unveiled the grand reopening of Hotel Thaynes on December 12, completing a conversion of the former Park City Peaks into a Tribute Portfolio Marriott Bonvoy property. The 128 room hotel reopened with upgraded guest rooms, new meeting and event spaces, and wellness amenities that include an indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub, plus sauna and steam rooms. An on site restaurant, Versante Hearth and Bar, anchors the property culinary offering.
The property’s proximity to Park City Mountain Resort and Deer Valley, along with shuttle access to slopes and Main Street, positions the hotel to capture winter leisure demand as well as lodging for shoulder season events. Participation in Marriott Bonvoy integrates the hotel into a global distribution and loyalty system, which typically boosts advance bookings and average daily rates compared with independent listings. For Summit County, the addition of 128 rooms represents a meaningful increment to available short term lodging at a time when resort capacity constraints often push rates higher during holidays and peak ski weekends.
Economic impacts will be felt locally through increased employment in housekeeping, food and beverage, and guest services, plus seasonal hiring for shuttle and operations staff. The new meeting and event facilities expand Park City’s inventory for conferences, weddings and corporate retreats, potentially smoothing seasonal revenue swings by attracting midweek group business. Local tax receipts from lodging and sales could rise as occupancy scales up, and nearby retailers and restaurants may see spillover spending from guests who choose the hotel for its convenience to the slopes and Main Street.

Naming the property for Thaynes and Thaynes Canyon ties the redevelopment to regional history while repositioning the asset for modern tourism demand. As Summit County navigates growth in visitor numbers and housing affordability pressures tied to short term rentals and hotel development, the reopening of Hotel Thaynes will be a visible marker of the local lodging market’s evolution heading into the 2025 2026 winter season.
