McDowell County Seeks Engineers For Bradshaw Sewer Flood Recovery

The McDowell County Public Service District on December 10, 2025 issued a Request for Qualifications seeking qualified engineering and architectural firms to provide professional services for flood related repairs and recovery of the Bradshaw municipal sewer system within the Oozley Branch area. Firms interested in the work must submit an original, three paper copies, and one digital submission to McDowell County PSD, and also provide one paper copy plus a PDF emailed to Region I Planning and Development Council. All submissions must be received by close of business January 9, 2026.

The notice lays out a broad scope of services expected from the selected consultant. Tasks may include damage assessment, engineering design, permitting, construction oversight, preparation of preliminary engineering reports, bid documents and specifications, bid evaluation recommendations, construction monitoring and inspection, contractor pay approval support, and preparation and delivery of final as built drawings and GIS formatted data. The consultant will coordinate with McDowell County PSD, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the West Virginia Office of Emergency Management, and Region I Planning and Development Council.

Procurement will follow West Virginia Code Chapter 5G and federal uniform guidance at 2 CFR Part 200. The PSD reserves the right to accept or reject any or all submissions.
