Silver San Juan Division Hosts Model Train Open House in Bayfield

The Silver San Juan Division will bring an HO scale railroad to the Pine River Library Community Room for a two day Model Train Open House, giving Bayfield residents a chance to see detailed layouts and try operating model trains. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 13 and from noon to 3 p.m. on Dec. 14 at 395 Bayfield Center Drive, Bayfield. All ages are invited.

Members of the Silver San Juan Division will set up and operate the layout, and they will provide hands on opportunities for attendees to learn operating techniques. Visitors can expect to watch running trains, observe how layouts are controlled, and receive basic instruction in operating a locomotive on the HO scale layout. HO scale is the most commonly used model train scale, which makes this a useful introduction for newcomers and returning hobbyists alike.
