Free Winter CPR and First Aid Training for Orange County Youth
The Orange County Youth Bureau and the Division of EMS Education will offer a free Heartsaver First Aid with CPR and AED training on December 29, 2025, during the winter school break. The class gives young people ages 14 to 20 practical lifesaving skills, helping families and community organizations across Orange County prepare for emergencies.

Orange County residents ages 14 to 20 who live, attend school, volunteer, or work in the county will be eligible to attend a free Heartsaver First Aid with CPR and AED training on December 29, 2025. The program is sponsored by the Orange County Youth Bureau in partnership with the Division of EMS Education, and it is scheduled during the winter school break to make participation convenient for students and young workers.
The course covers cardiopulmonary resuscitation, how to use an automated external defibrillator, and basic first aid techniques. Organizers say the training is intended to equip teens and young adults with practical skills they can use at home, at school, at part time jobs, and while volunteering with local nonprofits. Because the session is free, it removes a financial barrier that can prevent some families from accessing emergency training.
Pre registration is required and space is limited. Organizers warn that classes fill quickly. To register, complete and return the registration and consent forms by email to the Youth Bureau or call 845 615 3620 for assistance. More information is available on the Orange County Youth Bureau web page. Youth should confirm eligibility, bring any required forms, and arrive prepared to participate in both the classroom and hands on portions of the training.
Local impact is practical and immediate. Trained young people increase community preparedness at school events, sports activities, and in homes where family members may have medical vulnerabilities. For volunteers and workers in local service organizations, a credential in CPR and First Aid can enhance safety for program participants and strengthen resumes for teens seeking seasonal and year round employment.
Parents, school staff, and youth program leaders are encouraged to inform eligible young people about this opportunity and to register promptly. The single day session on December 29 will offer certification that can be a meaningful addition to youth emergency readiness and community resilience across Orange County.
