On January 8, 2026 County Executive Aisha N. Braveboy announced dates and locations for three FY 2027 Budget Listening Sessions, inviting Prince George’s County residents to provide in-person or written public comments for consideration by the Office of Management and Budget as the new fiscal year budget is developed.

The sessions are scheduled across north, central, and south County to broaden access. The first session will be held Monday, January 12, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Harmony Hall Regional Center, 10701 Livingston Road, Fort Washington. The second session is set for Wednesday, January 21, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Kingdom Fellowship A.M.E. Church, 11710 Beltsville Drive, Calverton. The final session will take place Thursday, January 29, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the County Council Hearing Room at the Wayne K. Curry Administration Building, 1301 McCormick Drive, Largo.

Residents who wish to speak must pre-register at least 24 hours before their chosen hearing at mypgc.us/budget and will be allotted three minutes to address budget priorities. Written comments will be accepted by the Office of Management and Budget via email at OMB@co.pg.md.us through Friday, January 30, 2026. All sessions will be live streamed on the County’s YouTube channel to accommodate those who cannot attend in person. For more information, contact the Office of Management and Budget at 301-952-3300 or OMB@co.pg.md.us.

Public budget hearings are a key moment in the county’s fiscal cycle, allowing residents to influence spending decisions that affect local schools, public safety, transportation, social services, and property tax policies. The three-minute speaking limit and the 24-hour pre-registration requirement are designed to ensure orderly proceedings while giving a wide range of voices a chance to be heard. The geographic distribution of sessions aims to lower travel barriers and reach communities across Prince George’s County.

By providing multiple in-person opportunities alongside written comment and livestream options, county officials are emphasizing transparency and public participation as the budget moves toward adoption. Residents concerned about specific programs or services should prepare concise statements and register early to secure a speaking slot or submit detailed written feedback before the January 30 deadline.
