Peet’s launches protein-forward winter menu, pistachio drinks, half-caff blend
Peet’s rolled out a winter menu emphasizing protein and pistachio flavors and introduced a half-caff retail blend to meet shopper demand. New packaging aims to boost grocery and online discoverability.

Peet’s refreshed its winter lineup on January 7, 2026, leaning hard into protein-forward options, a first-time limited-time partnership with Táche Pistachio Milk, and a retail packaging refresh designed to make products easier to find in stores and online. For coffee lovers juggling flavor and function, the changes are meant to meet practical needs without sacrificing craft.
At the top of the menu, the Vitality Menu returned with three protein smoothies: the Cold Brew Protein Smoothie, Matcha Peach Protein Smoothie, and Strawberry Protein Smoothie. Each medium serving delivers more than 16 grams of protein, positioning these drinks as a portable breakfast or post-workout option for customers who want caffeine plus macronutrient lift.
The Táche collaboration is Peet’s first limited-time partnership with a pistachio milk brand and brings two new pistachio-forward beverages. The Pistachio Rose Latte combines Táche Pistachio Milk with rose syrup and two ristretto shots, and the Pistachio Matcha Latte pairs Táche with matcha; both are offered hot or iced. These offerings tap into ongoing plant-milk experimentation and the broader trend of nut-forward flavor profiles in specialty coffee.
Other seasonal additions include the Iced Blushing Latte and Peet’s Lucky Day Latte, alongside a rollout of new artisan baked goods to pair with the drinks. On the retail side, Peet’s launched a packaging refresh across grocery and online channels intended to improve shelf visibility and make product discovery easier for shoppers browsing at home or in-store.

A notable retail product is Middle Ground, Peet’s first blended retail offering that mixes regular and decaffeinated beans to create a half-caff option packaged for grocery shelves. Middle Ground is slated to appear in Target stores in January, providing a convenient choice for people who want to moderate their caffeine without buying separate bags of regular and decaf.
For the local coffee community, these moves signal a push toward accessible innovation: functional drinks that work as quick fuel, plant-based collaborations that expand flavor playbooks, and packaging aimed at reducing friction for grocery shoppers. Baristas and home brewers will likely see interest in pistachio-based drinks and requests for half-caff beans.
Our two cents? If you’re curious about protein smoothies, try one as a breakfast swap; if you want to test pistachio milk in espresso, order the Pistachio Rose while it’s a limited-time item; and pick up Middle Ground at Target if you need a reliable half-caff for afternoon service.
